Mindfulness-Based Training in Forgiveness (MBTF)

Mindfulness-Based Training in Forgiveness (MBTF)

Finding Peace and Harmony Within Ourselves and With Others.

Many religious and wisdom traditions regard forgiveness as an important path toward both inner and outer harmony. Contemporary research also suggests that a willingness to forgive can support health, well-being, and psychological resilience.

At the same time, forgiveness is not always an easy process. To support individuals on this journey, Joyce Cordus and Frits Koster developed the Mindfulness-Based Training in Forgiveness (MBTF) program.

The MBTF program is designed for individuals with at least one year of mindfulness practice experience (such as MBSR, MBCT, or a regular mindfulness meditation practice).

Program Content

Throughout this online training, we will explore different dimensions of forgiveness, including:

  • Forgiving ourselves
  • Forgiving others
  • Asking for forgiveness

We will examine forgiveness both on an individual and collective level, exploring its relationship with culture, communities, and life experiences.

We will also address the dilemmas and challenges that may arise during the forgiveness process through a compassion-based approach.

The program draws inspiration from various traditions while remaining completely non-religious and accessible to people from all backgrounds.

Theoretical Perspectives

  • Different forms of forgiveness
  • Reconciliation and alternative approaches
  • Forgiveness through the lens of neuroscience and positive psychology

Experiential Practice
