JFrits Koster & Jetty Heynekamp

Frits Koster is a Vipassana meditation teacher and a certified teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). He was trained and worked as a psychiatric nurse and has been teaching mindfulness for many years in mental health settings, including clinics and hospitals. Frits has practiced Theravada Buddhism for over forty years and lived as a Buddhist monk in Thailand for six years during the 1980s. Since then, he has been leading Vipassana meditation retreats internationally and teaching within various MBSR mindfulness institutes around the world.

He is the author of several books, including Liberating Insight and The Web of Buddhist Wisdom

Together with Erik van den Brink, he developed the eight-week Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living (MBCL) program for participants who struggled to maintain practice after completing MBSR or MBCT and who tended to be overly self-critical.

This work is presented in the books Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living and A Practical Guide to Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living.

Jetty Heynekamp worked for many years as a physiotherapist and is the mother of two adult children. She has been practicing Vipassana meditation since 1982 and has participated in many long retreats in Sri Lanka and Thailand. She is highly experienced in supporting and guiding participants with physical disabilities and is a certified MBSR and MBCL teacher. In retreats and trainings, Jetty offers guidance in mindful movement and individually supports participants with posture-related and physical limitations. Frits and Jetty have been teaching retreats together since 2004. Together with Victoria Norton, they also co-edited the book Mindful Communication published by Routledge in 2022.

Zohair Elabd

Zohair Elabd is a senior mindfulness teacher based in Amsterdam, an MBSR and MBCT teacher, and the founder of ZoMindful. Together with a team of mindfulness teachers, ZoMindful offers MBSR and MBCT programs, follow-up courses, workplace trainings, and educational programs in and around Amsterdam.

Alongside his teaching, Zohair organizes retreats in which mindfulness skills are further deepened and expanded, including the practice of mindful communication. After a career in business, he transitioned into the field of education and specialized in mindfulness, developing programs for educational institutions. He also served for a period as a city council member in Amsterdam.

In addition to his mindfulness work, Zohair works as a project leader and educator in initiatives that encourage social and sustainable entrepreneurship among young people.

Zohair offers advanced courses for experienced practitioners and, together with Frits Koster, co-developed the Mindfulness Deepening and Conscious Communication Teacher Training Program. He serves as the lead trainer of the program and also provides supervision within the training pathway.

Trish Bartley

Trish Bartley has been teaching mindfulness since the beginning of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). With the support of Mark Williams and John Teasdale, she adapted MBCT for people with cancer and has been teaching mindfulness to cancer patients for more than 20 years.

Since 2003, Trish has been involved in training mindfulness teachers across the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa, and Asia, both in person and online. She runs workshops in various settings and countries, leads retreat programs, and supervises teachers of Mindfulness-Based Programs. For 15 years, she led the advanced mindfulness training module at Bangor University’s CMRP (The Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice).

Trish also has experience in development work in the United Kingdom and Africa. She is the author of four books, including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Cancer (Bartley, 2011), Mindfulness: A Kindly Approach to Being with Cancer (Bartley, 2017), and Teaching Mindfulness-Based Groups (Bartley & Griffith, 2022).

She is currently writing Mindfulness and Cancer and Deepening Inquiry in the Mindfulness-Based Group, which are scheduled for publication in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
